A Paradigm Shift for the New Year

Preacher:
Passage: Mark 11:27-12:12

I think we often start the new year thinking about how we can improve ourselves, how much weight we can lose, how much more we are going to exercise, change our jobs, graduate, read our Bibles, go to church, pray, spend more time with family, continue the work of recovery, etc. I think it is important for us to think about that. New Year is a marker just like morning is a marker. I don’t think we should just let it pass like a typical day. We should pause and see what God is calling to do. But, before all that happens, I want us to examine our paradigm, the fundamental way we look at the world and shift it  to a kingdom paradigm. You see, even if you try to do do do, if you don’t have the right kingdom paradigm, you’ll get stuck. You will lack power. What I want to do today is nothing less than give you the power of living.
