Missional Living

Preacher:
Passage: Acts 18:1-5, 18-26

Priscilla and Aquila lived in Rome until Emperor Claudius kicked-out all Jews from the city. They then settled in Corinth, where they met Paul. The couple worked and ministered together with Paul. When Paul went to Ephesus, they went with him. At Ephesus, they had a church that met at their home. When they moved back to Rome, they again had a church that met a their home.

The couple's life exemplifies missional living: (1) They lived for God's mission, not their own; (2) they used everything they had for God's mission; (3) they lived for God's mission everywhere and anywhere; (4) they learned and knew how to share the gospel, make disciples, and bring God's Kingdom down to earth; and (5) they ministered together as a married couple.

But how do we live like this: Where do we get the motivation to do this? The motivation is not our resolve to live the right way. This is incomplete. the motivation comes from the gospel of Jesus, which leads us to be filled with His Spirit, presence, grace and love.
