Moses: He Tabernacled Among Us

Preacher:
Passage: Exodus 40; Hebrews 9

The tabernacle (which means a dwelling place) was how God dwelt among his people. The tabernacle was how God’s presence was manifested. And what do you notice about the way God dwelt among his people? He came down to a tent. It was not a fancy building. It was a tent. God came to live in an ordinary tent. From the get go, God, the creator of the universe, came down and dwelt among his people. Why? Because he wanted to be with them. Because he loved them. You see, I don’t think it is possible for anyone to love anyone without wanting to be with that person. Maybe you can’t, but if you love someone, you can’t help but to want to be with them. Here is God of Heaven, who is way up there, coming down to dwell with his people.
