The Rejected Eunuch

Preacher:
Passage: Acts 8:1-26

The Ethiopian eunuch was wealthy, successful and powerful, but he was not satisfied. He was on a quest for God. So, he traveled thousands of miles from his country to Jerusalem to worship God at the temple. But, when he finally got to the temple, he was rejected because the law forbade eunuchs from entering into the temple. We often feel like that rejected eunuch -- maybe rejected by a church or feeling like we don't belong, we are not good enough for God.

Yet, God did not leave that eunuch to struggle alone. he sent Philip to share the good news of jesus that God loves him so much that he suffered for him, died for him, and therefore, accept him. He is a God of inclusion and acceptance, not because we are good enough but because God had come down as a suffering Messiah to rescue us, and He is good enough.

Just as God sent Philip to share the good news with the rejected eunuch, God is calling us to go beyond our comfort zone, culture and race to share the good news with all those who are or feel rejected like this eunuch.
