Proverbs 23:15-17 says that a wise heart does not envy. Therefore wise people get rid of envy. First off envy is simply painful, the proverbs say that it rots the bones. Secondly envy is very damaging to God's plans for an individual's life as well as for the community. Consequently we need to identify, confess, and rid ourselves of envy through seeking God, and letting His love become deeply rooted in our hearts.
