How can ‘Inclusive‘ and ‘Church‘ Have Anything in Common?

During the Fall of 2018, the pastors of New City presented a sermon series to address this exact question. The truth is, being centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ drives us to practice radical inclusivity. This series is called, “Inclusive Church: a Gospel-Centered Approach.”

As an inclusive church, we believe that the gospel includes all of us because we are all sinners saved by grace. This sermon is called “Inclusive of Us, Sinners,” by Pastor Kevin Haah.

As an inclusive church, we believe that the gospel includes people of all ethnicities and challenges us to transform our racial prejudices. This sermon is called “What the Gospel does to our Racial Prejudices,” by Pastor Daniel Perez.

As an inclusive church, we believe that the gospel includes the socioeconomically marginalized. This sermon is called “Reimagining the Table,” by Pastor Tracey Stringer.

As an inclusive church, we believe that the gospel calls us to stand for justice with socially marginalized peoples, yet also include those who have different political philosophies on how to do that. This sermon is called “The Gospel, a Political Divide, and Social Justice,” by Pastor Kevin Haah.

As an inclusive church, we believe that the gospel both includes and affirms the skills and gifts of women in church leadership, and challenges patriarchal assumptions. This sermon is called “The Gospel, Women in Leadership, and Challenging the Patriarchy,” by Pastor Kevin Haah.

As an inclusive church, we believe that the gospel includes persons who identify as LGBTQ in the life of the church. This sermon is called “Love that Stretches – on LGBTQ Inclusion,” by Pastor Kevin Haah.
