What is Fearfully and Wonderfully Made?

It is a 6-Week of study and conversation on the Scripture, the science of sex differences, and gender identity led by Kevin Haah and Anne Serene to accomplish two goals: 

  1. to better understand the Scriptures and the science of gender identity
  2. to love one another better

When is it?

January 11, 2022 – February 15, 2022 at 8 PM – 9:15 PM, Tuesday Nights.

Who is this for?

This conversation is open to the whole church and anyone interested.

What will the meetings be like?

We will spend the first 30 minutes watching a video curriculum created by Dr. Megan DeFranza. Then, there will be 45 minutes of small group discussions and large group discussions.

What are the requirements to be in this conversation?

  1. You must commit to attend the Zoom meetings except when you are sick or have other emergencies  
  2. You must be willing to submit to the ground rules of the conversation.
  3. You must come with a humble and open heart.

How do I sign-up?

You can sign-up via clicking HERE or by emailing kevin@newcitychurchla.com.  Please sign up by January 9, 2020.  You may still sign up after the group starts on January 11 but the absolute deadline to sign up is January 18, 2020.  After this deadline, you cannot be a part of this conversation.

Ground Rules

  1. Understand and accept differences of opinion
  2. Listen patiently and attentively
  3. Be considerate of others’ feelings
  4. Do not use language of judgment or condemnation
  5. Use “I” Statements vs. “You” Statements (Explanation here)
  6. Avoid interruptions by writing your thoughts and/or questions down and bring them up at the next opportunity. 
  7. Mute your microphone on Zoom unless you are speaking 
  8. (Other rules the group suggests would be good to apply)
