Kristen Byler was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. When she was 18, she moved out to the east coast for college and met David, who she married in 2016. Kristen and David lived in New Jersey and Washington DC for several years while Kristen worked for the federal government and got her Master’s in Public Affairs. In September 2018, they moved out to Los Angeles and immediately fell in love with New City Church. Kristen has been a member of Downtown Mixed Grow & Serve since fall 2018 and served as a co-leader for 2.5 years. She has been trained as a Stephen Minister through New City, previously served with New City Kids and Mini New City Kids, and helped organize outreach and connection with the church during the first year of the pandemic. Kristen and David live in Atwater Village, have a crazy pup named Zoya, and this year welcomed their son, Isaac, into the world and the New City family.
