Here are some answers to common questions you might have about our Sunday gathering.
When are your Sunday worship gatherings?
We have two. One at 9am and another at 11am. Although the dominate demographics of people in the two services are different (i.e., 11am service is more family friendly), they are identical services. Please click HERE for our full Sunday schedule.
Where do you meet on Sundays?
We meet at Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, at the heart of Downtown’s Historic Core. You can click HERE for directions.
Where should I park and do you validate parking?
Yes, we do validate your parking at Los Angeles Garage Associate parking structure which is right behind our worship venue. The validation card is FREE to newcomers; otherwise, the suggested donation is $2-$5 per validation. Click HERE for FAQs re suggested donation for parking validation. Remember, this is only a suggested (not required) donation. You can click HERE for information and direction to the validated parking garage. Please don’t forget to pick up your parking validation card from the Host Team Desk as you enter the theater. When you exit, just insert the parking ticket you received when you entered the garage, and when promoted to pay, insert your validation card you received from the Host Team.
I heard that the church is very diverse. How diverse are you?
We are probably one of the most diverse churches you can imagine. We are about pretty much evenly spread out ethnically; we have 18-22% in each major ethnic group: Latinos, Anglos, Asians, blacks, and multi-racial. We are about a third from Skid Row, a third from the lofts, and a third from outside of Downtown. Our church is beautiful in its diversity. As you get to know one another, you will start to appreciate one another’s beauty and truly learn to love people who are different than yourself. This will stretch your soul and help you love more broadly and deeply. We believe that this is the call of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Do you have a nursery for babies and toddlers?
We have a nursery for babies and toddlers in both services called miniNewCityKidz! Please come into the lobby of LATC, and walk down the stairs in the middle of the lobby and follow the fish rugs to the nursery for babies and toddlers. You can drop them off before you walk into the worship service. We also have a specially designed worship space for parents of newborns equipped with live video and audio feed so you can attend to your newborns particular needs without missing a thing. For more information about miniNewCityKidz, click HERE.
What do you have for kids?
For pre-school to 5th grade, we have an amazing kids’ ministry called NewCityKidz! during the 11am service only. For more information, click HERE. Please bring them with you to worship service for adults and they will be excused in the middle of the service.
What do you have for youth?
We have a ministry for middle school students (6th – 8th) during our 11am service. Come to the 11am service and they will be excused after communion for the middle school group.
High school students worship with adults during the 11am service. Then they meet at 1pm at the church office, 453 S. Spring St., Suite B2 (about 1 minute walk from LATC) for Bible study, sharing, prayer, and fun. Lunch is always provided.
