New-City-Parking_web

YES! We validate parking at Los Angeles Garage Associates parking structure, which is right behind our worship venue.  The validation card is FREE!

You can click HERE for information and directions to the validated parking garage. Please don’t forget to pick up your parking validation card from the Host Team Desk as you enter the theater or when you exit the theater after the service.

When you exit the parking garage, just insert the parking ticket you received when you entered the garage, and when prompted to pay, insert the validation card you received from the Host Team.

I heard that the church is very diverse. How diverse are you?

We are very diverse.  We are pretty evenly spread when it comes to ethnicity; we have 18-22% of each major ethnic group: Latino/a, Anglo, Asian, African-American, and multi-racial.  Socioeconomically, we are about a quarter from Skid Row and the rest from in and out of Downtown. We are multi-generational. We are about 10-15% LGBTQ.

Our church is beautiful in its diversity. If you decide to explore this community, this diversity will stretch your soul and help you love more broadly and deeply.  We believe that this is part of the call of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Do you have a nursery for babies and toddlers?

We have a nursery for babies and toddlers called miniNewCityKidz! It is located on the bottom floor of our worship venue (Los Angeles Theater Center).  When you come into the lobby of LATC, walk down the stairs (located in the middle of the lobby) and follow the colorful fish rugs to the nursery for babies and toddlers.  There, you can drop off your little ones before you walk into the worship service. For more information about miniNewCityKidz, click HERE.

What do you have for kids?

For preschool to 5th grade, we have an excellent kids’ ministry called NewCityKidz! For more information, click HERE.  Kids from pre-school to 5th grade are invited to adult worship for the first half; after Communion, kids are dismissed for NewCityKidz. Parents escort their kids to the 4th floor (elevator provided in the building), where Pastor Lynda and our NewCityKidz teachers check them in for children’s church.

What do you have for youth?

We have a ministry for youth during our service.  Please make sure you meet with Pastor Anthony Rios, our youth pastor, when you get to church.

What is the worship service like?

We start with contemporary worship songs and prayers.

We always have communion together. This is at the heart of our worship service.

We sometimes share stories of people.

We sometimes have liturgies and laments related to the season and what is going on in the world.

We have a breakout group time where we share something about ourselves with one another.

There is a sermon lasting about 35 minutes.

We close with a song and a benediction.

What should I wear?

Anything you like. Come as you are.
