Life Change from the Heart Series

This is a series about how God changes us from the heart. We saw that the fruit of the Spirit is a picture of a changed life—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. That’s the destination. The way we get there is by living in the Spirit. The Bible tells us what it means to live by the Spirit and Bill W. and Dr. Bob who wrote 12-step recovery program did a great job distilling it from the Big Big Book, the Bible. So, we are going to look at what it means to live by the Spirit as we look at the process outlined in the 12-step recovery program; and as we do this, we are going to do this from the perspective of its biblical roots just as the co-founders did.

Vision 2020: Deeper Roots and Broader Reach Series

New City Church is at a critical moment in its history. God has blessed us. While we still have a long way to go, we have made significant progress in becoming a diverse and inclusive gospel-centered church in downtown Los Angeles that loves and seeks justice for the neighborhood. God has built a unique and beautiful church here in downtown. The question that the leadership has been asking is what God is calling us to do now? After a year of prayer and communal discernment, we believe that the Holy Spirit has spoken.

Revelation: Unveiling Reality Series

Revelation was written to the churches that were being persecuted, to people who felt like God was not answering their prayers. It was written to tell them, and to tell us, that reality is more than what we see with our eyes. The word "Revelation" is Greek translation of the word, Apocalypse, which means unveiling. This book is about unveiling the unseen reality of not just the future, but also the present, SO THAT we can continue to be faithful to God even in midst of hardship, SO THAT we can overcome.
