When Samuel anointed David, the Scripture tells us that from that day on the Spirit of God came upon David in power. The Holy Spirit came into David and saturated him. Why? The Holy Spirit is the way in which God’s presence dwells in a person. It is when the Spirit of God comes into our lives, and we soak in his love, in his grace, in his wisdom, that our hearts are changed. It is the Spirit of God that changes us at the heart level.
