God of the Old Testament vs. God of the New Testament

Preacher:
Passage: Luke 24:25-26, 44-47

Now, sometimes when people read the Old Testament, it can seem confusing. Some people start to talk as though there are two gods. One God of the Old Testament and the other God of the New Testament—Jesus. People often like what Jesus has to say—his focus is on love, grace, and mercy, but they don’t know what to do with the God of the Old Testament. They say he is a violent God, a strict God, a justice oriented God. What do you do with this? How do you respond to this?
