Jesus was saying to the Pharisees that you can’t serve both money and God.
Either money is your God or God is your God. You have to make a choice. You can’t
have it both ways. And ultimately, Jesus is saying that if you choose money, money will
take you further and further away from God, and ultimately, you will be eternally
separated from God. If you don’t want God, God will let you have your wish.
