This passage is calling us to be imitators of God. The word for imitator is this word mimitai where we get the word mimic. It means to mimic God. It doesn’t mean to mimic God’s omnipotence or omnipresence, what theologians say are “incommunicable attributes” of God. These are attributes that only God has.
