The thesis of the series is that the Old Testament can only be understood when we understand the New Testament. The Bible is a progressive revelation of God’s redemptive plan, and it culminates in Jesus Christ. So, we have to read the Bible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in mind. I used the example of the movie “The Sixth Sense,” by M. Night Shamalan. When you know what happened, when you know who the characters are, when you know the truth, when you know God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the stuff that didn’t make any sense in the beginning, the stuff that didn’t make any sense in the OT, starts to make sense.
